FAQ
1 / What it a dog treadmill?
We utilize treadmills (also called slatmills) that are uniquely designed for dogs of any size. They have NO MOTOR, allowing your dog to control the pace. Your dog is not forced to run, it can stop anytime.
2 / What to do before the run?
Before your first session, you’ll receive an electronic liability form to sign, please make sure to read thoroughly. We will text or call you when we are on our way to your location. Refrain from feeding your dog within 2 hours before the exercise, and ensure they relieve themselves before the appointment. If you have a preferred harness for your session, feel free to use it. Otherwise, we provide harnesses for safety and comfort during their run. Upon arrival, kindly bring your dog(s) to the mobile dog gym, or inform us if you require assistance at the door – we're more than happy to assist!
3 / What can I expect during the run?
Our goal is to deliver the best workout for your dog based on their individual needs. We closely supervise their activities, encouraging them to engage in activities like walking, trotting, or running at their own pace throughout the entire session, with breaks and water provided as necessary.
One significant advantage of our equipment is that it has no motor, so your dog takes the lead, and nothing is forced. Our role is to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, incorporating positive reinforcement through cheering, clapping, squeaky toys, and plenty of love and affection. Treats can also be used, please let us know if your dog has any dietary restrictions.
4 / What can I expect after the run?
Your dog might stretch out on the cool floor and pant for a while following their exercise session, indicating a great workout. It's important to wait until their heart rate decreases before offering them food. It's normal for some dogs to experience a surge of energy after exercising, as their endorphins and adrenaline are elevated. Once their heart rate returns to normal and they start to relax, this excess energy will dissipate. For unconditioned or older dogs, it's advisable to gently massage their hind legs to help release lactic acid and reduce the risk of soreness over the next few days.
5 / Do I need to be present?
While we recommend your presence during the first session for a smooth introduction, you are welcome to leave your dog with us once they are used to the gym and our team.
6 / How long is each session?
Each session is a personalized 30-minute run tailored to meet your dog's needs.
7 / How often?
We offer weekly, bi-weekly, and on-demand scheduling. During hot summer months, or on cold weather, when outdoor options are limited, most clients like to increase to twice a week. You know your dog best and we are here to help discuss options with you for your specific needs.
8 / What are the requirements?
Please clear physical activity with your veterinarian. Dogs need to be at least 4 months old and be up to date on all vaccinations. We can accommodate anywhere from 2 lbs – 150 lbs.
9 / How is payment handled?
We accept cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express and Venmo.
